Mead Lumber, founded in 1910, is 100% Employee Owned, and was recently listed in the Lumber Building Materials Journal as the 12th largest Pro Contractor lumber/building materials retailer in the country. Mead operates 54 Lumber Yard, Retail, Truss Plant, and Component locations across nine Midwestern states. 

Primary responsibility is to drive company vehicles to deliver merchandise to customer jobsites and physically unload the materials to the customer’s satisfaction.

• Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Load, organize, and secure trucks according to the sales invoice.
• Responsible for accuracy of each load leaving the yard.
• Deliver and unload materials according to directions and on a timely basis.
• Record delivery information on sales invoice and relay messages from customers on jobsites.
• Maintain Pre-Trip inspections daily on all trucks, forklifts, and delivery vehicles.
• Follow all yard loading and delivery, and yard security procedures.
• Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo.
• Listen to and work with customers. 
• Housekeeping in yard and areas assigned to you.
• Loading customer merchandise.

• High School diploma required.
• Physical strength to lift and carry 80-100 pounds.
• Ability to operate a truck mounted forklift.
• Desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and professionally.
• Ability to stand/walk for 4 -10 hours daily.
• Ability to operate office equipment.
• Valid Class A driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a good driving record.
• Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Ability to preform basic math skills.
• Must be self-motivated and dependable.
